Shoe Sites with Free Shipping AND Returns!

As I stock my closet up for Spring and Summer, I realize that my shoe game is really lacking.  I constantly come across shoes online that I absolutely love, but the risk of paying for the shoes to be shipped here, trying them on, and then paying for them to be sent back is not very appealing or fun.  Luckily for us, many shoe shops and companies have gotten that memo, and now offer free shipping and free returns.  Here is a list of those sites and stores so you can shop for and buy shoes risk free!

Some sites have specific instructions in order to get the free returns, so make sure you read through their return policy before you send them back!

Please let me know of any other sites you know with free shipping and returns!  Happy shopping!

Crispy Oven Baked Onion Rings

My love for fried food is constantly trumped by the inches being added to my waistline, but I'm still a fried food lover at heart.  I am always trying to find healthy (or simply, healthier) alternatives to my favorite fattening goodies.  When we decided steak was for dinner, I needed a crispy, salty side to go along with it (and some veggies of course).  I decided to go with onion rings (original recipe here)--BAKED, not fried.  And let me just say, they came out so delicious!  One thing I always worry about with baking instead of frying is getting that crispy texture and crunch that I love.  This recipe did just the trick!  Enjoy!

Crispy Oven Baked Onion Rings

Ingredients

(Yields 3 servings of about 6 onion rings each!)

1 large yellow onion
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
3/4 c italian bread crumbs
1 egg
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp Old Bay seasoning (or to taste depending on spice preference!)

Recipe

1.  Preheat oven to 450 degrees.  Coat baking sheets or pans with olive oil cooking spray.
2.  Cut off ends of onion and peel.  Then cut in 1/4-1/2 inch slices and separate into rings (thinner rings get crispier).
3.  Place the rings in a bowl of cold water and let sit for about 10 minutes.

 4.  While onions are in water, combine flour and baking powder in one shallow bowl, beaten egg in another, and breadcrumbs, salt, and Old Bay seasoning (or seasoning of your choice).
ready to be coated!
5.  One by one, dip each onion rings in flour, egg, and breadcrumb mixture and place on baking sheets.

it's okay if not all surface are totally covered, they will still crisp up!
6.  Bake for 10 minutes on one side.  Then flip each individual ring and put back in the oven for another 8-10 minutes or when completely browned.  Take out and enjoy! Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.

Baked to crispy perfection!  Leave feedback :)

Sites Like Anthropologie

My most popular post to date Online Shopping on a Budget: Sites Like Forever 21 focuses on more affordable choices for girls and women of all ages.  But what happens when you are willing to splurge a little bit?  I decided to get out of my frugal ways (still on a post-college grad budget), and explore some of my "wish" stores.  Yes, the stores that I wish I can afford one day!  It's fun to shop, but resisting the temptation to buy is difficult (though I did manage to find some good deals on adorable marked down clothes).  Here is a list of some sites like one of my favorite splurge stores, sites like Anthropologie!

(always start with the original!)
